Unko Morimori of [TA] (former [FW] and hopefully future [RezQ]) is now the first player to achieve the rank of Conquering Gladiator on teh 15th of August 2006. Rank 7 is supposedly 775 wins (309 points to get from glad 6 to 7), Unko says he will stop TA'ing from now on, as hes saccraficed alot of time TA'ing tog et this rank: he will now PvE and GvG the rest of his gw days.

not only rare...unique, unless som1 can prove otherwise (our sources have acess to european and american servers only, should any1 be able to find a korean/taiwanese/japanese gladiator r6, it'd be much apreciated)

rank is useless because every ha build is scrubby imo, not just iway, iway has 4 warriors, 4 warriors is pretty good... if they had frenzy and shock, but they don't, they fail... Migraine Mesmers (scrubs), Blood Spike (scrubs), and Choking Gas Rangers (scrubs) also fail though, HA fails...

go go TA, congrats to this rank 6 gladiator, that's one hell of a lot of dedication

yeah im with him as u posted that remmeh, hes not aiming for r7 is what he means, hes just TA'ing as a passtime (hes going hardcore 55 monk >__< and green farmer) as for 2nd lowest title? might be low but its hard to get, and tbh id trust a glad ranked player more then a ha ranked player in TA (alot of r9s are appawling in ta...)

HA is only the challenge your opponent makes it,
Rank counts - deal with it,
GvG = the highest PvP element of this game.

People saying that titles don't mean anything because you can ______ them need to take a look at the bigger picture. All pvp titles can be earned in a cheap way, and high rank in no way means high skill. High rank can be "faked" in all respect, I'd have much more faith in a rank 3 that got his fame with balanced than with a rank 9 that ran spike or iway. Rank shows only one thing: time spent. I respect that Unko didn't earn his points in RA, as I've seen him in TA battles many times in the past.

I won't comment on his skill, as that's not the point of this thread. As I said, rank = time spent, not skill. It's equivilent to farming, a rich farmer doesn't mean anything in terms of skill.

That's cold, man, but true. To me, RA/TA rank means even less than HA rank because, let's be honest, anyone can go in with anything in RA and earn glad points. HA, on the other hand, at least requires you to get consecutive wins versus increasingly better teams to get any decent amount of fame. Everyone in RA rolls over 10 teams and then quits out to repeat. At least in HA there is the incentive to be good and to hold the winning streak for as long as possible.

But ultimately it's all grind. Guild rating is the only thing that matters, because you can actually lose it by playing bad.
